WHAT IS ABLE INDUSTRIES?
ABLE Industries is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation funded by fees for services contracts, production revenue and donations. The agency serves disabled adults 18 and older. The agency is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities which ensures that quality services and solid administrative and financial operations are maintained. The major focus of ABLE Industries' training is to provide opportunities for individuals to improve in vocational, social and interpersonal skills.
HOW DO YOU TRAIN PEOPLE TO WORK?
ABLE creates a work environment as normal as possible for its trainees who are assigned various jobs depending on their level of skill.
DO TRAINEES GET PAID FOR WORK?
Yes, ABLE trainees receive wages based on productivity. These wages are regulated the Department of Labor.
DO YOU ACCEPT DONATIONS?
Yes, we are always happy to accept your tax deductible donation, however, what helps us even more is work. We have a capable workforce ready to provide a wide variety of services including, assembly, packaging, document scanning and commercial facility and grounds maintenance.
CAN I TAKE A TOUR?
Absolutely! We are happy to provide guided tours by appointment in either our main work facility or Life Skills Learning Center locations. We strongly recommend making an appointment during program hours so you can see the programs in action. Simply call us at 651-8150 to arrange a time.
CAN I VOLUNTEER AT ABLE?
I HAVE A DISABILITY, HOW CAN I GET TRAINING FROM ABLE?
Typically, you would need to first receive services from either Central Valley Regional Center or the California Department of Rehabilitation before being referred to our agency for vocational or Life Skills training. We do offer limited "non-sponsored" positions that are funded by contributions from agencies such as The United Way. (link) We can also accept self-funded individuals.
